Playa Grande

Just north of Playa Tamarindo, in Guanacaste Costa Rica, you will find the beach town of Playa Grande. The beach is a three mile stretch of white sand. Playa Tamarindo

The wave is small and steady providing the perfect place for beginner surfers to practice. With the population being the biggest in the area there are plenty of real estate options to fit every need and every budget. Tamarindo is by far the biggest “city” at the beach with a growing community of expats from all over the world.

Las Ventanas de Playa Grande

At the entrance of Playa Grande you will find the area’s only gated community, Las Ventanas de Playa Grande. Las Ventanas is 380 acres of lush tropical forest and spectacular ocean views. This is a low density development so mother nature is all around you. Las Ventanas de Playa Grande has several existing homes. Some of the amenities in the community include walking and biking trails, an equestrian center and a beach club is coming soon. This is Playa Grande’s most exclusive neighborhood offering privacy and security all just two minutes away from the surf.

Playa Grande Estates

In the heart of Playa Grande is Play Grande Estates. This neighborhood is an easy walk to the beach and the surf. Playa Grande Estates has several boutique hotels, restaurants and other small businesses. This little town has that off the beaten path feel even though it is less than one hour from the Liberia International Airport.

Palm Beach Estates

At the south end of Playa Grande, closest to Tamarindo is Palm Beach Estates. Palm Beach has the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Tamarindo Estuary on the other. This charming residential community has more then 70 homes. The neighborhood has a few small hotels, restaurants and a grocery store. Palm Beach Estates is a short walk to the beach and also has some beach front homes. The large number of homes and easy access to Tamarindo, make Palm Beach Estates a popular vacation rental market.

Playa Conchal

The calm waters of Playa Conchal are perfect for swimming and snorkeling because it’s location protects if from most swell directions. Playa Conchal is north of Playa Grande and south of Playa Brasalito. The beach is a crescent of white sand and clear blue water. The north end of the beach is very young so instead of sand you find your feet in millions of tiny shells. Playa Conchal is more of a beach than a town so there is little development. A few small projects of homes and condos are a short walk away. Closer to the beach at Playa Conchal is Reserva Conchal, a luxury private community with lots, homes and incredible ocean views.

Playa Langosta

Playa Langosta is just south of Playa Tamarindo, and makes up one of the higher-end neighborhoods in the area. Some call it the “Beverly Hills” of Tamarindo. Playa Langosta is home to many of the better surf spots in the area. Many of the nicest homes and condos in the area are on the beachfront in Langosta. Bustling Tamarindo is just a short walk down the beach, but Langosta beach sees far less traffic and has a tranquil vibe. There is a small central area with a few hotels, restaurants and a market. Playa Langosta has the best vacation rental properties in town, which means investors enjoy a great return on investment.

Playa Brasilito

Playa Brasalito is a town with true Costa Rican flavor. Many small bars and restaurants line the town square just steps from the beach. Brasilito is north of Playa Conchal and south Playa Flamingo. The beach in Playa Brasilito has calm waters so it is a great place for walking or horseback riding. Brasilito is a town with a larger local population than most of the other beach towns in the area. Mar Vista is the leading project in town. Mar Vista is a gated community with spectacular ocean views. The project offers both lots and existing homes.
