It is not uncommon to hear a story about an individual, a couple, or a family who traveled to Playa Grande, Costa Rica for the first time only to fall in love with it and decide to continue to return year after year. A considerable portion of the local population in Playa Grande is made up of seasonal locals who once started as a tourist. After many years of returning, many of these seasonal and now full-time locals have invested in real estate here.
One particularly popular neighbor in Playa Grande is Las Ventanas. This 360-acre private gated neighborhood has drawn in not only Costa Ricans but families from all over the world. It is it’s own pequeño mundo or small world. If you have been searching for your home, first or second, in the forest and by the sea, then this is it.
SO, WHAT’S SO AMAZING ABOUT LAS VENTANAS?
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Las Ventanas is located just minutes from the main beach in Playa Grande. It also has its own private entrance and exit to the north that grants you quick access to the beautiful Bahia de los Piratas (if you had to drive around like everyone else, it would take you around 30 minutes). Within a thirty-minute drive though, you are within proximity to four excellent private schools and thirty miles of coastline, including some pretty spectacular surfing beaches.
You are also close to several grocery stores, medical facilities, restaurants, bars, and gas stations.
VISTAS
Las Ventanas offers some of the most incredible views in all of Playa Grande. Depending on where you are in Las Ventanas, you can see all of Playa Grande and the Las Baulas National Marine Park, the Tamarindo estuary, and the Las Catalinas Islands. From the highest points, there are 360-degree views of the ocean, dense forests, and mountains. The vistas will take your breath away.
AMENITIES GALORE
An extraordinary amenity that is offered to all residents of Las Ventanas is the organic community garden. This garden is host to 150 fruiting trees, medicinal plants, and herbs. There is also an inviting clubhouse with a vast ocean view and infinity pool, miles of nature and biking trails, paved roads, a playground, and a skatepark.
SAFETY
While Playa Grande is a safe community in general, theft is not uncommon in Costa Rica. Fortunately, Las Ventanas is a gated neighborhood with 24/7 security, which is definitely a perk.
